This is the first of a series of "legacy releases" from the old hard drive collections of my unreleased music.

"Bittersweetpotato EP" is a small folky chapter from 2015.

This is from a short phase in which I played guitar! The intimacy and warmth of the acoustic guitar spoke the greatest truth to me at this time of transition. I was in my early 20s and in the midst of going through a long and slow breakup with my partner of 8 years. We loved each other dearly, but I felt that I was holding him back from fulfilling his potential. This person did so much to help me accomplish my dreams, and I still get emotional thinking about the fact that I shared such a special bond with someone who offered unconditional support at the beginning of this wild musical journey. Our divergence was excruciatingly bittersweet... potato.

I started playing guitar and writing in November 2015 and recorded these a few weeks later with my dear friend and sound wizard Rebekah Wineman. The cathartic act of recording these songs showed me the strength of female friendship and the healing power of community collaboration, which will forever be dear to my heart. We hammered out the tunes live in about 2 hours, after which my raw fingers decided to go back to piano.

So much life, love, and music has happened since this time, but there is something endearing about letting the innocence of your youth breathe again. Enjoy this little peek into times of past.
